Workplace misconduct and corruption are critical risks for the good governance and reputation of every organisation, and complex and high profile matters are best investigated independently.
We have assembled, arguably, Australia’s most highly-respected and skilled team of workplace investigators. Our team includes former senior executives, ombudsmen, lawyers, HR professionals, fraud specialists, clinicians and law enforcement officers.
Our investigators are renowned for their interpersonal and analytical skills, and for completing matters on time and within budget. Our clients also often remark that they appreciate the way our investigators keep them informed and flag significant developments in cases.
We invariably deliver comprehensive, timely, procedurally fair and evidence-based investigation reports that will withstand any test.
In the last 20 years we have successfully investigated a huge variety and a vast number of allegations of employee misconduct across all sectors and industries.
Centium offers expert, independent investigations of alleged workplace misconduct that greatly assist in effectively and fairly resolving complaints and mitigating organisational and employee impacts. Our investigations reports are fit-for-purpose and demonstrate that our investigation was timely, sensitive, complete, detailed and fair.
We investigate a diverse range of conduct-related concerns that occur in the workplace, including:
A ‘fact-finding’ or ‘preliminary assessment’ process is often necessary to determine whether a formal or disciplinary investigation is warranted. Following an incident or complaint, Centium can review any available documents, interview involved parties, make findings of fact and recommended whether the event or complaint merits a further investigation.
Alternatively, the findings may establish that there was no misconduct, or that further investigation is unlikely to provide any clear determination or that the complaint was trivial, ill-conceived or vexatious.
Occasionally, Centium is asked to independently review third-party investigation reports.
Our reviews against best-practice standards assist clients’ consideration of relevant disciplinary or termination processes, improve the quality of and confidence in their decision making and reduce the likelihood of the matter going to litigation.
Conflict in the workplace can create stress, high employee turnover and high costs in terms of managers’ time and employee payouts. Employees impacted by conflict have lowered job performance, motivation and productivity. Conflict that goes unmanaged can lead to complaints, dismissals and legal action.
Centium can undertake mediation as a process in which the participants, with the support of our mediator, agree to meet to identify issues, develop options, consider alternatives and make decisions about future actions and outcomes. The mediator acts as a third party to support participants to reach their own decision. It is suitable for resolving conflicts from interpersonal relationships to legal disputes.
